When is the course offered and when can I start?
You may enroll in the course at any time through our course website at www.MyContractorCampus.com . The site is secure and allows you to provide us with your contact information, pay for the course automatically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and start immediately.
Is this course approved for all license classes (A, B and C)?
Yes, the course is approved for all license classes, A, B or C.
If I take your course do I need to also take a state exam?
Our course fulfills the eight hour education requirement required for class A, B and C contractors. Class A and B contractors are also required to take a state exam that is administered through PSI. Please see either the Virginia DPOR website (www.dpor.virginia.gov/dporweb/con_main.cfm) or the PSI website (www.psiexams.com) for detailed information.
Does this prepare me for the state licensing exam?
Although the course is not designed as a complete test preparation course, all of the information presented will assist in preparing you for the exam. The textbooks that may be included with the course can be taken in to the exam (please confirm this with PSI prior to taking the exam) and cover the same areas the exam covers.
How do I use the books (if included with course) with the online course?
The books are useful references during the course, can be taken in to the state exam (A and B licenses) and are helpful references as you run your business. You do not however need to wait for your books to arrive to start your course. All of your reading is completed online.
How do I get the books (if included with course)?
The books ship out USPS Priority Mail and generally
take 3 to 4 days depending on where you are
in North America.
Do I have to do the 6 hours and 40 minutes (8 hour course credit) in one sitting?
No, the course is self paced and may be taken in any time frame you wish. Your username and password allow you to access the course at any time that fits your schedule.
Why do I need to provide you with my Social Security Number and Birth Date?
We are required to provide this information to the Virginia Department of Professional Regulation, Board for Contractors when we send them your course completion information. This information is never released to anyone other than the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.
How do I start my course online?
Go to www.MyContractorCampus.com and enroll instantly by clicking the Virginia Course link of your choice. You will then be asked to create an account to provide us with your required personal information. An e-mail will be sent to you within 5-10 minutes to confirm that you can receive e-mail from our course software. Once you receive this e-mail you may click on the link provided and go back to our website. If you do not receive an e-mail, please call us and we can manually confirm your registration. Click on the course link again and put in your credit card information. Once your credit card has been processed (about 1 minute) you are ready to start your course.
How does the online course work?
Once you have enrolled in the course you are ready to begin. Just log in with your user name and password each time you are ready to work on your course. When you click on the course title, you will go to the "Topic Outline" page that lists all of the reading assignments and quizzes. Click on a section you would like to read or a quiz you would like to take and you will be sent to that section or quiz. Your time is always shown at the top of your screen (remember 6 hours and 40 minutes of education are required) and you may always check your grades on the grades link on your left. Continue your reading and quizzes until you have completed the requirements.
What should I do when I finish the course?
Once you have completed the course a Course Completion link will become active at the bottom of the course. You can download and print the certificate immediately and include a copy with your license paperwork. Once you have downloaded your Completion Certificate we also send your completion information to the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Remember, when you send your license application to the state you will also need to provide a copy of your course completion certificate.
I have put in my credit card information and I keep receiving an error message. Why?
Please double check to make sure you are putting in your name and address exactly as it is shown on your credit card statement. The credit card processing system checks the name and address information you provide against the credit card company's database to help prevent fraud. If you feel that you have put in the information correctly, please call us and we can assist you. We will also take electronic checks although you will not be able to download your completion certificate for a 7 day hold period. Call us for details.
